Christmas parade and decking the halls

Uncle Kevin made Paw's year by getting a 1929 Ford for him to ride in in the Flora Christmas parade. Papaw was in hog heaven having his girls there to ride with him. He is one proud Paw and Great Paw. The girls were excited because they got to throw the candy out.

Paw, Maygan, Rachel, Ashlee Rae, and Uncle Kevin:

Getting love from Great Paw:

The girls before the parade: All smiles!

After the parade we went to Moma's to help put up and decorate the Christmas tree. My sweet sisser and her girls were there to help.

Addy girl did such a good job hanging the ornaments.

Rachel loved being able to help too.

My beautiful Mommy:

It has already been such a memorable and fun Christmas season. Between seeing Santa, the Christmas parade with Paw, decorating Moma's house, and Disney on Ice, our hearts are full of the Christmas spirit and its still a week until Christmas day. I love my family.

Trying for a Christmas card

Baby girl Loves having her picture taken lately. We tried several times to get the perfect Christmas card picture. It's so much easier when someone else takes the pictures because I am so critical of my own, but I got several that I really loved.

She looks so big in this picture. Where did my baby go?I bent down to take her picture, and the horse started chewing on my dress. Rachel of course thought this was hilarious.
And the winner is:
I love her big cheese grin! This is so her.

Disney on Ice

So, I haven't written a blog in what seems like forever. Sorry about that. I guess life got in the way- happens sometimes. :) Rachel and I had a chance to go see Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes the other night, and I thought it was fitting for a blog post. Rachel was so super excited for weeks leading up to this show, and it did not disappoint.
We got to the show early so she could meet Cinderella. She was shy at first and didn't want to take her picture with her, but as we were about to go find our seats, she decided she wanted to. She was mesmerized by Cinderella. Rachel was so excited when Cinderella bent down and waved directly to her. It made her night. Rachel has a new thing where if she is nervous she puts her hands in her hair. She did this with Santa too.

Adrienne told Bridgett and I that she saw on the news where there would be "little people" skating as the Dwarfs. I was looking forward to this most of all; that's bad, I know. To my disappointment they were regular size adults, but they put on a good show. Dopey was especially cute.

Here is Rachel modeling her $10 cotton candy crown. Those people must make a killing off of the souveniers. A snowcone in a collectible cup was $15. Thankfully she was ok with not getting the snowcone, considering it was 20 degrees outside.
Rachel and Emily were on the edge of their seats the entire time. They also talked to each other
the entire time. Bridgett and I said we don't see how they heard a single song in the show. They were just too excited. I loved watching the looks on their faces as each new scene unfolded. They were so funny trying to copy the dance moved the skaters did in their seats. They would each say, "I can do that" and try to raise their leg up like the skaters. They were too funny.
The excitement on these faces must have been from when Snow White came out. She is who they were most looking forward to.
After the show they got to take their picture in front of the castle and got to see the ice up close. Rachel wanted to go out on to the ice.

Lillie, Rachel, and Emily:
We had such a great time, and I was so glad she got to share the experience with her friends.

soccer game!!

Here she is about to make a goal! Go #2!
She is so proud of herself when she makes a goal.

I'm really not sure how she did this, but it made for a cool picture.

Scoring her 2nd goal!

She was telling her daddy she had one more to go. Before the game she told him she was going to make 3 goals, so after each one she was counting down.

Silly little girl. She likes to make faces at us during the game.
Her coach asked her where her goal was, and she told him she was going to kick it to her mommy. He didn't really like that answer. :) She gets excited when she gets the ball and kicks it in the goal closest to her, whether it is her team or the other team's goal.

This was right after she scored a goal. She was telling us she made 3 goals.

She pouts if she has to come off of the field for any length of time.

There she goes with the silly faces and poses again. :)

Baby girl and I have enjoyed having these two days off to hang out and play, and that is about all we have accomplished. We did do a little sewing and run a couple of errands, but we have had a ball.

This baby can't even make a mean face without smiling! I love her!

We were being silly.

Princess P talked me into playing Play-Doh this morning. I have to confess that Play-Doh is near the bottom of my "Things I like to do" list, but she loves it.

Birthday cake anyone???

my little sewing model

I got this sweet birdie fabric early this year, but I couldn't decide what to make out of it. I finally got it out this weekend and made a sweet little knot dress out of it. I am proud of how it came out, and Rachel loves it. As soon as I finished it, she wanted to put it on and take pictures- a girl after my own heart. While Daddy was out car shopping we sewed and played outside and took pictures. She loves to laugh for her pictures. She cracks me up!

This was my very favorite picture:

Back of the dress:

last soccer practice

We had our last soccer practice two weeks ago, and games started last week. I forgot to put my memory card in my camera, so I have no pictures from her first game. She did really good though. She even scored a goal! She was so proud of herself, and she looked so cute in her big ole jersey.
